Right Place Right Time: Who Are You?
This post continues the discussion from my last post, How to Be in the Right Place at the Right Time.
FIGURE OUT WHO YOU ARE
I want you to be in the right place at the right time. However, not every opportunity is yours to seize. You want an opportunity that matches you. Well who are you?
If you’re a Christian, first and foremost it is my desire that you know and use your spiritual gifts.
In my opinion, another big thing you have to know is if you’re meant to sit in first or second chair. I got that language from talking to an assistant pastor the other day. He said, “I love sitting in the second chair”. Here’s what he meant by that.
Do you want to be the top leader of something? Do you want to cast a vision to a team and be responsible for the outcome? Do you want to be the final authority? Then you’re probably a first chair type of person.
Do you want to take someone’s idea and make it happen? Do you want to be given goals to meet and then find a path to get there? Do you want to take something already in existence and make it way better but not necessarily be the face of the organization? Then you’re a second chair type of person.
The main point is to know where you’ll fit in, should something come your way. You want to be positioned in the right place. If you haven’t already read Strengths Finder and taken the DISC test. Today. Do it today.
WHAT KIND OF LEADER ARE YOU? WHERE DO YOU TYPICALLY FIT IN AN ORGANIZATION? HOW CAN YOU USE THIS INFORMATION TO BE IN THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME.
