If you’ve been to Griggs in the last month, you know that we’ve been talking about Easter. We’ve announced it, encouraged everyone to bring friends, promoted it, and on Wednesday nights it’s been a special prayer request. Why make such a big deal out of this weekend?
We’re Glad You’re Here
We love that you’ll come on Easter. We’ve heard it said from various church leaders that it’s frustrating some folks only come on Christmas and Easter. It’s as if they’re saying, “if they’re only coming because it’s Easter, they shouldn’t come at all.” That is not our view at Griggs.
If you're going to come, we’re going to love it. Please, come and celebrate with us. We would love to share with you Jesus, his gospel, and why we have chosen to engage in Christian community all year long.
We’re Glad He’s Here
We make sure Easter is one of the most exciting Sundays of the year. Lord willing, we're baptizing four people, we’re adding a few new members, installing a new deacon and playing some very special music.
Jesus is alive! And our goal is to make Easter a day where we remind ourselves and our guests that his church is alive as well. We’re glad his hand is on us. We want you to be glad too.
We’re Glad We’re Here
We want to be the church you know. We’re not looking to be the biggest, flashiest church, just the church that you know. Maybe right now, you have questions about Jesus or have some distrust in the church. Maybe you even think we’re a cult or something. All good.
We want you to come on Easter and check it out, that way you know where we are and what we’re all about. And when you or someone else in the neighborhood hits hard times, and you need some support, you know you can come to us. We love that we get to be a part of the community in Greenville and particularly Poe Mill. We’re glad to have your back, whenever you need it. And maybe someday you’ll be right there with us, having someone else’s back.
On Saturday from 11-12:30 we’re holding an Easter Egg hunt for the kids and taking them to McDonald's. We’d love to have your little ones participate. On Sunday, from 10-11 we’re having donuts and coffee, come get a cup. Then, from 11-12:15, by God’s grace, we’re going to celebrate the greatest event in the history of the universe. Join us! We love Easter.
